September and October WMPA Meeting Minutes

 We'd LOVE to see you at the next WMPA meeting on Monday, November 6th at 7:00pm in the band room. 


But we will have the minutes posted here. Here are September's and October's  minutes to keep you updated.


WMPA Meeting Minutes Oct.2, 2023


In Attendance: President-Laura O Co-VP/Snack Stand-Alison Co-VP Dana M. Secretary-Amy D-

Welcome Parents: Beth and John B.,Candace L, Yaritza and Israel R., Fernando A., Barb H.,

Whitehall Principal: Dr. Mayes, MZB Director: Michael Tanzos

Fundraising: Mateys Piza orders are due 10/12, and delivered 10/24 Pies and Poinsettias are on deck

for mid November, candles and strudels after that. All of our fundraising is currently earmarked to

replace the chimes in the pit percussion section.

Apparel Sale: October 14-November 4th check out the new items offered

Snack Stand: Volunteers needed for home games, Home Show, and Playoff games: Alison shared

that the snack stand has been running smoothly. Donations are being received THANK YOU and

please keep them coming! Donations can be monetary as well.

*Parents we also need additional bottled water donations for the band on competition days.


Championships for Band November 4 at New Oxford High School. Look for a google form about

carpooling


*****Home Show- October 28! We need ALL Parents to help with this event please*********

Volunteers needed inside and outside stadium, Distribute donation letters (contact Laura for letter ) to

local businesses, donate baked goods for bake sale or snacks/drinks/additional food for stand.

Watch for sign up genius for volunteer/donation opportunities

Dr. Mayes shared that he has been working on a district 2024-25 budget and a review of the needs and

future of the music department programs. They have committed to improve items such as instruments,

and other necessary supplies for the music department.

Michael Tanzos said he will begin using the band app for Battle Plan and departure/arrival times and

reminds students to always pack an extra snack for competitions. Please only use the following email

WMPA Meeting Minutes Sept. 5, 2023

Board Members: , Amy F-P, Angel L, Jennifer A

Welcome Parents: Beth and John B., Paul S.,Candace, Johanna, Fernando

Treasurer Report given by Rachel S. General finances discussed.

Discussion about new truck status; still in process. Board voted and approved purchase of ATV.

Fundraising: Mums (vouchers) from LV Home and Garden will be the next sale distributed 9/12. Pies

and Cookies are next in time for Thanksgiving. All of our fundraising is currently earmarked to replace

the chimes in the pit percussion section.

Board positions: We are recruiting any interested parents to join our board! It helps us with voting at

meetings and money handling (ie: snack stand, home show). This is a great way to get to know other

parents and the goings on of MZB. We are also needing volunteer(s) for an Officer position of

Treasurer or Treasurer Team.

Snack Stand: Volunteers needed for home games: Alison shared that the snack stand has been

running smoothly. Plans to keep the grilled cheese, but make them to order instead of ahead of time.

Donations are being received THANK YOU and please keep them coming! Discussion about hot spot

needed for the tablets, and we may want to consider purchasing that with our WMPA funds.

Discussed preparations; So far 8 bands registered. Discussed other items including Tents needed,

Hospitality area food donations from local businesses, baked goods for sale, Candy grams,

merchandise, programs, etc.

*A donation request letter will be available at our next meeting for parents to present to businesses.

All this and much more will be discussed at our next meeting. We will view the map of campus and

“walk through” bus/truck arrivals/parking, band practice areas, spectator parking, and all areas where

volunteers will be needed throughout the day.
