Nov 2nd MZB Crosses Competition Organization Lines and Takes High Honors at TOB Chapter II Championships The MZB tested thier abilities this past weekend, competing in the Tournament of Bands Chapter II Championships. Director Rich Hiborn warned that the TOB judging can be much more critical than USSBA but the MZB showed that they have what it takes, scoring the highest score among all Group II bands and taking second place among all groups competing that day! Now the MZB must prepare for one of the toughest competitions this Friday at the Nationals in Annapolis, MD.

Oct 29th The MZB Performs and Supports Football Team at Parkland HS! Oct 29th MZB Improves Scores at Preview of Champions and takes 1st Place! The MZB put forth some additional effort this past weekend and pulled up their current high score an additional 4 points. This will go a long way in helping to lock in their performance position at the Northern States Championships on Nov 9th. With the backdrop issues out of the way and some minor tweaking of the show by Director Rick Hilborn, the judges will have no excuses in awarding even higher scores in the coming weeks!
Oct 29th The MZB Visits Bethlehem at the Liberty Football Homecoming Game! The Whitehall Marching Zephyr Band and the Allen High School Marching Band performed during the pre-game and halftime events at the Whitehall Home Game and Senior Night, honoring our Whitehall seniors from the football team, cheerleading squads and marhcing band!

Oct 23rd MZB Joins in the Fun at the Annual Coplay Halloween Parade! Oct 23rd New Fun Pasta Fundraiser Now Available! The WMPA has a new fundraiser that that changes the shape of things - as far as pasta goes! Fun Pasta from The Pasta Shoppe comes in fun shapes such as music notes, cat and dog paws or sports shapes, to name a few. Please see any MZB member or parent for details!
Oct 19th MZB Takes 1st for Group IIA at State Championships in the Land of Chocolate! The MZB holds it's own at the State Championships in Hershey, taking 1st place and all caption awards! After performing their show, the MZB took a much needed break at Hershey's Chocolate World for some entertainment and good old-fashioned chocolate treats! Now they set their sites on the Northern States and National Competitions....but first...one more regional competition next Saturday at J. Birney Crum Stadium, hosted by Quakertown High School!
Oct 18th 3 New WMPA Fundraisers Now Available! Oct 17th Festivities abound at the Annual Whitehall High School Homecoming Game! Whitehall and Emmaus fans were treated to many festivities at the annual homecoming game this past Friday! The MZB started off the evening with the performance their award-winning show! The MZB then shared the stage with the Whitehall Middle School Concert Bands, performing the alma mater and national anthem. At half-time, all the Whitehall H.S. clubs and groups circled the track with creative and fun floats while the Emmaus Hornet Band entertained us on the field. It was a fun, busy (and dusty) night for all!
Oct 12th Bands Show Off Their Talents at the Annual Lehigh Valley Band Day! Oct 11th MZB Takes High Honors at Nazareth Competition This Past Saturday! The MZB proves they've got what it takes by taking high honors at the Nazareth Competition this past Saturday. Not only did they take first place and three captions in their group, they also took 2 overall caption awards AND best band of the show!! Now the MZB sets their sites on the State Competition at Hershey this coming weekend. Will the USSBA push for a change to Open class? That remains to be seen! Either way, the MZB has some stiff competition coming their way!
Oct 7th Parent Volunteer Information Now Available Online! A new resource is now available to Event Volunteers! Chaperones, Pit/Prop and Snack Stand Volunteers can now see each event and the list of current volunteers that have committed to work at that event. Volunteers can also send messages to the volunteer coordinators to sign up for events and make changes to their volunteer commitments.
Oct 4th Busy Saturday for the MZB - Back-to-Back Competitions! The MZB, chaperones and pit/prop crews made it through an intense and lengthy Saturday, competing at both the Northampton and Pleasant Valley shows! The MZB showed it's ability to improve quickly from week to week by increasing their scores by more than 10 points from the previous competition. The MZB also took first place in there group at both competitions!

Sept 20th Whitehall's Music-In-Motion Show a Success! The Whitehall Music Parents Association hosted the 38th annual Music-In-Motion USSBA show/competition this past Saturday at Whitehall High School. Under a beautiful fall sky, bands from around the region performed for an enthusiastic crowd. The Wh9itehall Marching Zephyr Band gave a great performance of their new 'Solutions' show, complete with a giant Rubik's Cube! Fans were also treated to great homemade foods, grams and items for purchase. Thanks goes out to many local businesses that continue to sponsor this event and help; keep "Music in our Schools!"
Sept 19th MZB and Northampton Big N Band Perform Pre-Game Show at Whitehall Home Football Game! Sept 13th MZB Performs In Their First Competition of the Season at North Penn High School! The MZB performed in their first competition of the season at North  Penn High School in Lansdale, PA. The new Rubik's Cube props were also unveiled to the delight of all that attended. The MZB performed exceptionally well and placed in their first competition. The MZB performs in exhibition next Saturday at their annual Music-In Motion home show!

Aug 29th MZB Performs at Conrad Weiser Game Aug 28th MZB Show Off at Preview Night The MZB performed for family and friends during the annual Preview Night at the Whitehall HS stadium this past Thursday! The band members showed off with marching demonstrations, practice examples and previews of the football and competition show. Mr Hilborn expressed his satisfaction on how quickly the band has progressed throughout the long and busy band camp this year!
Aug 24th The Annual MZB Band Olympics The MZB took a much needed break from the hard work of  practice to complete in the annual Band Olympics. Band members broke up into teams to complete in events such as the wheel barrel race, water balloon toss and rifle throw, to name a few. The golden marching shoe was handed out to the winning team and the rainbow shoe was awarded to the team with the most spirit! The event ended with the traditional cooler dumping on Mr Hilborn!
Aug 23rd The MZB Prepare for the new Football and Competition Season! The members of the Marching Zephyr Band have been busy the past two weeks at band camp preparing for the up-coming Football and Competition season. Come out to the Football Stadium on Thursday, August 28th at 7:30pm for a preview of this year's shows and some marching demonstrations! Also, check out a sampling of pictures from this year's band camp and Rubik's Cube construction!
Aug 21st 1st WMPA Fundraiser of the season - Entertainment Books! As our first fundraiser of the MZB season, the Whitehall Hall Music Parents Association and the Marching Zephyr Band will be selling the new 2009 Entertainment Books! The sales goes from August 20th until September 26th at a cost of $20.00 for each Lehigh Valley version. Other areas are also available. Please see any band member or parent for details!

June 11th Jazz Ensemble Featured at WHS Transportation Department Banquet! The Whitehall High School Jazz Ensemble, directed by L. Rich  Hilborn, entertained at the Whitehall High School Transportation Department annual Banquet as a thank you for their continued support throughout the year during instrumental events at area schools.
June 6th Help Needed for Major WMPA Fundraiser! The WMPA has the privilege this year to be the only supplier of concessions at the annual Lehigh Valley Civil War Days in the Whitehall Parkway on June 14th and 15th. Parent and Student help is needed in order to cover all the shifts necessary to make this fundraiser a success. With the additional events that the MZB and Indoor Groups will attend, the WMPA is striving to run as many large fundraisers as possible to offset these events.
June 5th Whitehall Band Annual Awards Banquet This past Friday, May 30th, members of the Marching Zephyr Band and Indoor Groups attended the annual awards banquet at Northampton Community Center. Students and parents enjoyed a great dinner, awards presentations and wrapped up the evening with some great dancing to a DJ!
June 2nd Order Your DVD Media Package Now! May 27th Whitehall Middle School - Night of Music! May 26th The Whitehall Musical Groups Compete in Virginia!! This past weekend, members of Marching Band, Concert Band, Jazz Band, Indoor Percussion and Wind Ensemble competed in the 2008 Fiesta-Val Invitational Music Festival in Virginia Beach and Williamsburg. Events included: judged performances, a ghost tour of Colonial Williamsburg, a fun day in Busch Gardens topped off with the awards ceremony on Saturday evening in Busch Gardens!
May 22nd Area Student Selected to Perform with the National Honor Band in 2009 Rose Parade!  Adam Cramsey, a junior at Whitehall High School, has been selected by Bands of America for the national Honor Band in the 2009 Tournament of Roses Parade. Adam was selected from among hundreds of applicants across the nation for membership in this prestigious honors ensemble.

The Dallas Brass musical ensemble received standing ovations at their performance at Whitehall High School on Tuesday, April 8. Known for their unique blend of traditional brass and a full complement of drums and percussion, the Dallas Brass created phenomenal live show featuring some of the most intricate instrument playing, humor along with some musical history.

Whitehall Music Student, Elizabeth Brodt, has recently become the FIRST WHITEHALL STUDENT EVER to make PA ALL-STATE BAND for 3 consecutive years! During Region Band, she had placed 1st in here instrumental group for all-state band auditions. In addition, Lizzie is also the 1st Whitehall High School student to make REGION BAND, REGION ORCHESTRA, and REGION CHORUS all in the same year. This is NO SMALL ACCOMPLISHMENT for any student what-so-ever. Congratulations Lizzie and good luck at All-states!

School Marching Band performed during the pre-game and halftime events at the Parkland Away Game against Whitehall. Parkland seniors were also honored during this event.
Parade through the streets of Coplay! The MZB was joined by many floats, fire engines and community groups. All participants in the parade were treated to hot dogs and soda at the end of the parade!

Civil War Days events were held at the Whitehall Parkway. The Whitehall Music Parents and Students sold assorted food and drinks at the event as a fundraiser to help support the many upcoming Whitehall Music events!
It's no band for beginners. "The Lehigh County Band" takes the best of the best from area high schools. And this Saturday, the big band is celebrating its 50th anniversary in a big way. WFMZ's Joscelyn Moes has the story and video!
