Current News! Feb 25th, 2010 2nd Spaghetti Fundraiser Dinner a Success! On Friday, February 19th, the Whitehall Music Parents Association and members of the Marching Zephyr Band held their second Spaghetti Dinner Fundraiser year. Everyone had plenty of food including a full spaghetti plate, rolls, salad and desert. Homemade baked good were also enjoyed along with basket raffles and entertainment by several MZB members! Thanks to everyone that supported this event!
Feb 5th, 2010 Parkland Indoor Competition Cancelled for Saturday The Indoor TIA Competition at Parkland High School, scheduled for Saturday, February 6th, has been cancelled due to the impending snow storm hitting the North East. This show has been rescheduled for Sunday, April 11, the day after the Whitehall Home Show.
Feb 3rd, 2010 WMPA Spaghetti Dinner on Feb. 19th! The Whitehall Music Parents Association will be hosting their annual Spaghetti Dinner Fundraiser on Friday, February 19th in Fullerton at the Jefferson Park activity building! Doors open at 4:30pm. Join us for some great food and good friends! The WMPA is also taking food donations, (such as salad dressing, parmesan cheese, etc) that can be dropped off at the HS band room.
Feb 3rd, 2010 Indoor Groups Annual Bowl-a-thon! The Whitehall H.S. Indoor Percussion and Colorguard students are holding their annual Bowl-a-thon at Hampton Lanes in Northampton on Sunday, March 7th. This event is a fundraiser to help defray the expenses of their trip to Wildwood and the Tournament of Bands Championships this spring! Please contact your favorite Indoor Groups student and sponsor them on this endeavor.
Jan 20th, 2010 Mr Rick Hilborn Receives Citation of Excellence! Mr Rick Hilborn, current Music Director at Zephyr Elementary, was nominated by his colleagues for, and selected as, the recipient of the 2009-2010 Citation of Excellence from the Pennsylvania Music Educators Association for outstanding teaching accomplishments. The award will be presented at the PMEA state conference in Pittsburgh on Fri, April 23, 2010. Mr Hilborn was notified of his award during a surprise visit from one of the PMEA board members at Zephyr Elementary School. The award is an annual award which is given to outstanding music teachers at various levels - elementary, middle school, high school, and the college level.
