|  | | | - All parents are encouraged to join the Whitehall Music Parents Association (WMPA). The membership fee is $10 per family. The WMPA supports the various aspects of the music program here at Whitehall, both vocal and instrumental.
- The WMPA holds monthly meetings. General Membership meetings are held the second Wednesday of every month at 7:00pm in the high school cafeteria. Board meetings are held the first Wednesday of each month at 7:00pm in the high school band room.
- The WMPA holds various fund raisers throughout the year in order to assist the children with the raising of funds for events, trips, band clothing, etc. Each child has his/her 'student account' which consists of profits earned from that student's fund raising efforts. This account can be used to pay for any item related to band participation (i.e. band shoes, band gloves, trips, band jackets, etc).
- The WMPA is always looking for it's members to become involved. Throughout the year, we need volunteers to work our snack bar, chaperone, bake, assist with fund raisers, work in the 'pit crew', sew, etc. There are many different ways in which parents can help out. Our organization is a TEAM - we need everyone to be part of that team!
- Two of the WMPA's biggest yearly events is that of Music in Motion for Marching Band and Indoor Groups. We host our own indoor and outdoor competitions which attracts some of the best school competition groups in the region! We are proud that our shows have been an annual event now for over thirty years - they are some of the longest running shows in the region! We always need lots of help for these events - there are lots of committees to be formed for these events.
- The WMPA publishes a frequent newsletter. You may subscribe to this news letter at the following link. Subscribe to Newsletter You will be sent this newsletter via email and can also be viewed in the Newsletter section of this website. The newsletter typically contains important information regarding upcoming events, fund raisers, and also general news about 'our kids'. This is a great way to stay completely informed about the activities of the organization.
