The Dallas Brass musical ensemble received standing ovations at their performance at Whitehall High School on Tuesday, April 8. Known for their unique blend of traditional brass and a full complement of drums and percussion, the Dallas Brass created phenomenal live show featuring some of the most intricate instrument playing, humor along with some musical history.

The Dallas Brass performed the sounds of American music through out the years featuring music from composers such as Henry Mancini, Benny Goodman, Leonard Bernstein, John Phillip Sousa, Aaron Coplan and more in a showcase called American Musical Journey.

In addition to the evening performance, the Dallas Brass also incorporated an unprecedented educational component with each instrumental student from Whitehall school district and students from the surrounding schools. The students practiced music provided by Dallas Brass and then spent the afternoon of the show date fine-tuning the music with the members of Dallas Brass.

Students then had the once -in-a-lifetime opportunity to perform on stage along side of the entire Dallas Brass ensemble during the evening show to the delight of parents and audience members.

Michael Levine, which heads up the Dallas Brass remarked during the show that his experience with the Instrumental students was one of the most enjoyable he has had yet on their school tour and he as impressed by the enthusiasm and dedication of all the students involved.

The Dallas Brass was presented at Whitehall High School by the Instrumental Music Department, headed up by Mr. L. Rich Hilborn and the Whitehall Music Parents Association.
