MZB Update 10-19-19

MZB,

IT'S HOME SHOW WEEK!!!  Always one of the highlights of the season, there is nothing quite like performing as the host band at our own competition!  Let's make sure that we have a great week to gear up for fantastic home show (and senior night) performances!

Here is this week's schedule:

Tuesday -- Rehearsal 6-9 PM

WEDNESDAY -- Rehearsal 6-9 PM **Remember this was added due to date change of the Whitehall Fall Fest Parade

Thursday -- Whitehall Fall Fest Parade (re-scheduled from rain-out earlier in the month) Report time to school is 5:30 PM to change into uniform and get equipment.  We need to be at the staging area (Schadt Ave. Park building) by 6:00 PM.  The parade kicks off at 6:30 PM and travels down Campus Dr., through the Middle School parking lot, and around the front of Zephyr Elementary.  We will end back at the HS band room to change out of uniform and for pick-up.  Estimated pick-up time is 7:00 PM.

Friday -- SENIOR NIGHT HOME football game against Northampton ; Report time is 4:30 PM ; Gator and chaperones needed at band room by 5:15 PM ; We will be performing HALFTIME.  Please remember to complete your 3rd quarter break food order by THURSDAY using the emailed link.

Saturday -- HOME SHOW COMPETITION! ; Detailed battle plan attached and below.  We need to start moving from the school to the stadium around 12:30 PM so rehearsal can begin promptly at 1:00 PM.



BATTLE PLAN for Saturday, October 26
“Music in Motion” Home Show Competition
Zephyr Stadium

12:30 pm – School open, move equipment to stadium
1:00 pm – Rehearsal begins on Football field
3:30 pm – Pack up equipment and return to band room
4:00 pm – Free time to help, eat dinner, visit vendors, enjoy performances, etc.
4:55 pm – WHS Chorale sings National Anthem / Show Begins
7:00 pm – Report to Band Room; Change into Full Uniform
7:15 pm – Warm-up
8:30 pm – Whitehall MZB performance
8:45 pm – Go to back sideline stands; Awards Ceremony
9:15 pm – Go back to Band Room; Change out of uniform, put equipment away
???? – Dismissal; Everyone is required to help out after the show!  The sooner we get everything done, the sooner we can go home!

A list of things all members should bring with them for the entire day:
  • Instrument/Equipment
  • Marching Shoes
  • Under-uniform wear
  • Gloves
  • Make-up / Hair products (Colorguard)
  • Raincoat
  • Water for during practice
  • Sweatshirt or jacket
  • Money for additional items at refreshment stand / vendors
