MZB Update 10-12-19


Nice job this week, culminating in a solid performance and result on Saturday!  We will be continuing to refine and enhance the show this week, so please come prepared to clean and make adjustments in the name of maximizing everything we can from it.  

Here is a look at this week's schedule:

Tuesday -- Coplay Halloween Parade. We will meet directly at the parade site (between N. 9th Street and Chestnut Street in Coplay).  We usually gather near the Post Office.  Report time is 6:30 PM.  The parade begins at 7 PM and will conclude at the Coplay Saengerbund (5th and Hockendaqua St.).  Please note that the school will NOT be open before or after the parade...please take all of your uniform parts and equipment home with you and bring it back on Wednesday night.  Attached is the parade map so you can see where the route goes.   

WEDNESDAY -- Rehearsal 6-9 PM **(Note the different day due to the Coplay Parade)

Thursday -- Rehearsal 6-9 PM

Friday -- AWAY football game vs. Liberty ; Report time is 4:15 PM ; Truck needed at band room by 4:15 PM ; Chaperones needed at band room by 4:45 PM.  We will be likely be performing SPLIT HALFTIME.

Saturday -- Competition @ Nazareth HS (501 E. Center St., Nazareth, PA 18064) ; Detailed battle plan attached and below.  Rehearsal begins promptly 1:45 PM ; Truck is needed up at lot by 3:45 PM ; Chaperones needed at band room by 4:30 PM.

BATTLE PLAN for Saturday, October 19
Nazareth Area HS Competition
501 E. Center St., Nazareth, PA 18064

1:30 pm – School open ; set up for rehearsal
1:45 pm – Rehearsal begins
3:45 pm – Load equipment truck; Change into “Partial Uniform”
5:00 pm – Depart for Nazareth HS
5:45 pm – Arrive at Nazareth HS; visit restrooms and eat dinner at show snack stand
6:45 pm – Unload truck; warm-up
8:30 pm – Whitehall MZB performance
8:45 pm – Drop equipment off at truck, back to stadium to watch Host Band performance
9:00 pm – Host band performs ; ALL members must be in designated area of stands
9:20 pm – Awards Ceremony
9:35 pm – Load truck
10:15 pm – Depart for home
11:00 pm – Estimated arrival time home…ALL members must stay at the school until the equipment truck is completely unloaded.  NO EXCEPTIONS!!!

A list of things all members should bring with them for the entire day:
  • Instrument/Equipment
  • Marching Shoes
  • Under-uniform wear
  • Gloves
  • Make-up / Hair products (Colorguard)
  • Raincoat
  • Water for during practice
  • Money for dinner at the Nazareth snack stand
  • Sweatshirt or jacket
