MZB Update 10-26-19


Congrats on a wonderful home show!  Zephyr Pride was certainly on full display, and I hope that you all enjoyed the experience and made memories that you will take with you forever.  As we transition out of the home show, we are now in the final stretch of the season -- only 2 WEEKS LEFT!  Let's keep pushing all the way to the end!

Here is a look at this week's schedule:

Tuesday -- Rehearsal 6-9 PM

Thursday -- Rehearsal 6-9 PM

Saturday -- Competition at Governor Mifflin HS (101 S. Waverly St., Shillington, PA 19607) ; Detailed battle plan below and attached.  Truck is needed at the parking lot by 3:15 PM ; Chaperones needed at the band room by 4:15 PM.  

If you are planning to attend as a spectator, tickets are $10 for adults and $8 for students/seniors.  Here is the full show line-up:

Looking ahead to NEXT week (CHAMPIONSHIPS!), here is all of the important info for spectators (including ticket purchasing) if you are planning to attend:
We will be in American Open Class on Saturday, November 9th at Hershey Park Stadium.  By pre-ordering your tickets, YOU SAVE MONEY!  Please come out and show your support for the kids on a tremendous year -- and a last chance to see this show live.  Let's fill the stands with Whitehall support!  There's nothing quite like a Championship do NOT want to miss this!!!   

Lastly, a huge THANK YOU to all of the family members who volunteered, donated, and worked to make our home show a tremendous success!  We could not pull off such a wonderful event without all of your support!  Once again, you knocked it out of the park with hospitality!  BY FAR the best spread of any of the shows we've attended this year!  Overall, it was an amazing evening and hopefully one that the students will remember and always cherish.

BATTLE PLAN for Saturday, November 2
Governor Mifflin HS Competition
101 S. Waverly St., Shillington, PA 19607
1:10 pm – School open ; Set-up for rehearsal at parking lot
1:30 pm – Rehearsal begins
3:30 pm – Load equipment truck; Change into “Partial Uniform” ; Eat packed dinner
4:45 pm – Depart for Governor Mifflin HS
6:15 pm – Arrive at Governor Mifflin HS; Visit restrooms
6:30 pm – Unload truck; warm-up
8:15 pm – Whitehall MZB performance
8:30 pm – Begin to load truck
8:50 pm – Pause loading, head back to stadium for host band performance and awards
9:00 pm – Host Band performs ; ALL members MUST be in designated area of stands
9:30 pm – Awards Ceremony
9:45 pm – Finish loading truck
10:15 pm – Depart for home
11:45 pm – Estimated arrival time home…ALL members must stay at the school until the equipment truck is completely unloaded.  NO EXCEPTIONS!!!

A list of things all members should bring with them for the entire day:
  • Instrument/Equipment
  • Marching Shoes
  • Under-uniform wear
  • Gloves
  • Make-up / Hair products (Colorguard)
  • Raincoat
  • Water for during practice
  • Packed dinner for after practice/bus ride
  • Sweatshirt and/or jacket

Please come prepared, be flexible, and let’s work together so that we can reach our fullest potential!
