MZB Update 9-28-19

MZB,

It's time for another COMPETITION WEEK!  Looking forward to presenting our latest version of the show this week, now that we've added and tweaked several things.  Please note THIS IS A WEIRD WEEK SCHEDULE-WISE!!!

MONDAY - Rehearsal 6-9 PM ** Remember this was a change during the summer, as we needed to move our Thursday rehearsal due to the bonfire that night.

Tuesday - Rehersal 6-9 PM (About the only "routine" thing going this week :-)

THURSDAY - Whitehall "Fall Fest" Parade **Remember this was a date change for Saturday, Oct. 5.  Report time in uniform is likely going to be 6 PM...but I have yet to receive official confirmation of staging details from the Township.  I do know that the parade kicks off at 6:30 PM on the school campus.  Stay tuned for more details...as soon as I have them, I will forward on.

Friday - HOMECOMING football game vs. Parkland ; Report time is 4:45 PM ; Gator and chaperones needed at the band room by 5:45 PM.  We will be performing HALFTIME.  We will be joined by members of the MS Band for our annual "Middle School Band Night" -- please be helpful and encouraging, as these are potential future members of the MZB!  Reminder to complete your 3rd quarter break food/drink order by the end of the day THURSDAY.  Form was emailed to you on 9/28.

*Friday is also the Pep Rally at the HS. HS members should report to the band room at 12:30 PM to get instruments and head to the gym. Attire is band polo or class shirt.

Saturday - COMPETITION at Pittston Area HS (5 Stout Rd., Yatesville, PA 18640) ; School opens at 1:00 PM, rehearsal begins at 1:15 up at the lot.  Truck needed at lot by 3:00 PM, chaperones at school by 4:15 PM.  Detailed battle plan attached and below.  Tickets for spectators are $10 for adults ; $8 for students/seniors.

BATTLE PLAN for Saturday, October 5
Pittston Area HS Competition
5 Stout Rd., Yatesville, PA 18640
  
1:00 pm – School open ; Set up for rehearsal
1:15 pm – Rehearsal begins
3:15 pm – Load equipment truck; Change into “Partial Uniform”
4:45 pm – Depart for Pittston Area HS ; Eat packed dinner on bus ride
6:15 pm – Arrive at Pittston Area HS; visit restrooms
6:30 pm – Unload truck; warm-up
8:15 pm – Whitehall MZB performance
8:30 pm – Drop equipment off at back of stadium area ; watch Host Band performance
9:00 pm – Awards Ceremony
9:15 pm – Take equipment to truck and load
10:00 pm – Depart for home
11:30 pm – Estimated arrival time home…ALL members must stay at the school until the equipment truck is completely unloaded.  NO EXCEPTIONS!!!

  
A list of things all members should bring with them for the entire day:
  • Instrument/Equipment
  • Marching Shoes
  • Under-uniform wear
  • Gloves
  • Make-up / Hair products (Colorguard)
  • Raincoat
  • Water for during practice
  • Packed dinner for after practice/bus ride
  • Snack for bus ride home
  • Sweatshirt or jacket (if desired)
