MZB Update 10-21-18


WOW!  What a fantastic home show!!!  Great performance, great hospitality, great organization -- from top to bottom, Whitehall was VERY well represented by all of you!  A big THANK YOU to all of the parents who donated, cooked, baked, volunteered and supported this event -- it doesn't happen without you...and not only did we meet the needs of the show, they were surpassed!  You knocked it out of the park!  Way to go everyone!!!  THANK YOU!

Here is the schedule for this week:

Tuesday - Rehearsal 6-9 PM

**NO rehearsal Wednesday, as we did not need to utilize the Coplay parade rain date

Thursday - Rehearsal 6-9 PM

Friday - AWAY football game vs. Northampton ; Report time is 4:30 PM ;  Truck needed at band room by 4:45 PM ; Chaperones needed at the band room by 5:15 PM ; We will be performing HALFTIME.

Saturday - Competition at Nazareth Area HS (501 E. Center St., Nazareth, PA 18064) ; Detailed "battle plan" below and attached.  School will be open at 12:45 PM, rehearsal starts promptly at 1:15 PM.  We'll need the truck at the stadium parking lot by 3:00 PM ; Chaperones are needed at the band room by 4:00 PM.  Please be sure to bring money for dinner at the show snack stand!

For spectators Saturday, please be sure to bring cash for admission.  Here is the event schedule:

We are now winding down to the home stretch of the season -- only a few weeks left before championships!  It's time to focus on the small details -- and I'm placing a call out for continued strength from our support group from here to the end of the season.  Let's get a SIZEABLE cheering section for these last 3 shows -- these kids are doing AMAZING things...let's show our support at each of these last events as we reach the finish line of the season!

Speaking of the end of the season, Championship information and ticket ordering is now live on the Cavalcade website.  Please check out the following links -- remember that our championships are at Allentown this year at J. Birney Crum Stadium.  We will be in American Open Class on Sunday, November 11th.  By pre-ordering your tickets, YOU SAVE MONEY!  Please come out and show your support for the kids on a tremendous year -- and a last chance to see this year's show.  There's nothing quite like a Championship do NOT want to miss this!!!

BATTLE PLAN for Saturday, October 27

Nazareth Area HS Competition

501 E. Center St., Nazareth, PA 18064

12:45 pm – School open

1:15 pm – Rehearsal begins

3:15 pm – Load equipment truck; Change into “Partial Uniform”

4:30 pm – Depart for Nazareth HS

5:15 pm – Arrive at Nazareth HS; visit restrooms and eat dinner at show snack stand

6:15 pm – Unload truck; warm-up

8:00 pm – Whitehall MZB performance

8:20 pm – Load truck

8:50 pm – Back to stadium to watch host band.

9:00 pm – Host band performs ; ALL members must be in designated area of stands

9:15 pm – Awards Ceremony

11:00 pm – Estimated arrival time home…ALL members must stay at the school until the equipment truck is completely unloaded.  NO EXCEPTIONS!!!

A list of things all members should bring with them for the entire day:

  • Instrument/Equipment
  • Marching Shoes
  • Under-uniform wear
  • Gloves
  • Make-up / Hair products (Colorguard)
  • Raincoat
  • Water for during practice
  • Money for dinner at the Nazareth snack stand
  • Sweatshirt or jacket
