MZB Update 9-15-18

Congratulations on a tremendously successful first competition of the season! As we discussed Saturday, we must keep working hard as there is a LOT of season left, and many areas to keep improving! The next step is to continue finishing A River’s Fury, so please come prepared and ready to make the commitment to being GREAT! Here is the schedule for this week:

Monday - Phillies Band Night!  Those attending must wear their maroon band polo, jeans, sneakers, and BRING YOUR RAINCOAT!  Middle School members will meet at the MS Band Room at the end of Period 5 with your belongings to walk over to the HS.  High School members should report to the band room at 1:45 PM with all belongings.  Chaperones should meet us at the back (band room) parking lot by 2:00 PM.  Please be sure to have your Phillies Medley music IN A PLASTIC SLEEVE, IN A BINDER!  You will need to bring money for dinner/food/souvenirs at the game.  Please note that food is EXPENSIVE at the stadium...I recommend bringing at least $20 with you.  Family and friends coming to the game who wish to watch the performance, it will take place at 6 PM outside the stadium.

Tuesday - Rehearsal 6-9 PM  **Remember to watch the video on Google Classroom and bring your "homework" with you to this rehearsal -- 5 things written down that you noticed in the video that YOU can improve individually!

Thursday - Rehearsal 6-9 PM

Friday - AWAY football game vs. Freedom ; Report time is 4:00 PM ;  Truck needed at the band room by 4:45 PM; Chaperones needed at the band room by 5:15 PM ; We will be performing SPLIT HALFTIME.  Students may stay after school in the band room on Friday if you wish.  Middle School members who wish to stay should meet in the MS Cafeteria after dismissal, and a security officer will walk you over to the High School.  Please be sure to bring everything with you that you need for the game!  Also -- we will order pizza for after school if you would like to partake.  Plan on $1 per slice and $1 per drink.

Saturday - Competition at Wissahickon HS (521 Houston Rd., Ambler, PA 19002) ; Detailed battle plan below and attached.  School will be open at 12:45 PM, rehearsal starts promptly at 1:15 PM.  We'll need the truck at the stadium parking lot by 3:00 PM ; Chaperones are needed at the band room by 4:15 PM.  Please note that everyone MUST pack a dinner!  We will not have time to eat at the competition, so you may also want to pack some snacks for the ride home as well.
For spectators Saturday, please be sure to bring cash for admission. Tickets are $10 for adults, $5 for seniors/students, and children 5 and under are FREE.  Please consider coming out to cheer on and show your support for the kids!  It really means a lot to them to have a nice cheering section at the competitions :-)  Here is the event schedule:
